How To Connect Bluetooth Headphones to Polk Soundbar? [2022 Guide]

Welcome to the step-by-step guide to get your Polk Audio Soundbar to wirelessly connect with Bluetooth headphones.

Connecting Bluetooth headphones to Polk soundbar can be a task. But in this article, I’ll show you how it’s done in an easy manner.

Many people are new to the idea of connecting Bluetooth headphones to the Polk soundbar. Many don’t even know they can connect those devices.

However, you shouldn’t be afraid if this is the first thing that pops into your head when thinking about connecting them. The process should be easy enough for anyone to follow and complete successfully.

Can I Connect Bluetooth Headphones to Polk Soundbar?

The Polk soundbar–just like every other soundbar–is made to receive audio rather than send it. So it’s not an output device.

In addition, the Bluetooth connectivity option in the Polk soundbar is an input. So you can stream music from the audio source (such as your phone) to your bar. The bar itself does not output anything.

Therefore, unless you have an additional device called the Bluetooth transmitter (we recommend the Oasis Plus by Avantree), by nature you can’t connect Bluetooth headphones to the Polk Audio soundbar.

It’s not because of a technical limitation—you can listen to music on your soundbar through the audio source, after all—but rather because the soundbar receives audio rather than sending it. It’s also not possible to stream music from the soundbar to the headphones, because that would require output from the soundbar.

So unless you don’t have Avantree’s Oasis Plus Bluetooth Transmitter device, there’s no way to connect Bluetooth headphones to Polk or any other brand soundbar. It’s because soundbars are designed to pick up sound, not send it to the headphones via Bluetooth.

How Do I Connect My Bluetooth Headphones To My Polk Soundbar?

To connect your Bluetooth headphones to the Polk soundbar, you will need Avantree’s Bluetooth transmitter device called the Oasis Plus.

This Bluetooth transmitter allows the sound from your TV or other audio sources to be transmitted into the soundbar and wireless headphones at the same time, but with independent volume controls.

Here are the step-by-step instructions to connect your Bluetooth headphones to the Polk Audio soundbar:

1). First, pair your headphones to the Oasis Plus Bluetooth Transmitter.

2). Connect the Oasis Plus to your TV via the cables that come with it.

3). Now connect your soundbar to Oasis Plus’s RX Port. You can also choose between optical, auxiliary, or RCA ports–depending on what your device supports.

4). Please note that if you are using an optical connection between your TV and your Oasis Plus, please make sure that you use optical to connect here as well.

5). On the other hand, if you are using auxiliary or RCA between your TV and Oasis Plus, you will need to use auxiliary.

6). In case, you are unable to use the same type of connection for both sides, you may consider purchasing a Digital-to-Analog converter to act as an adapter on either side

7). Now you can enjoy your favorite music or podcasts on both your Bluetooth headphones and soundbar simultaneously. And that too with independent volume controls for each channel.
